Just what do those organic labels mean?
Recently, Jason Green at “The Daily Loaf”, Creative Loafing’s blog, posted a story about how organic foods are labeled. In the article, Green defines what it means for something to be 100% Organic, USDA Certified Organic and All Natural. For instance, if something claims to be 100% Organic it means that the USDA has accepted that the food item includes “products with 100% organically produced (raw and processed) ingredients.”
Green also points out that PLU labels can be important in determining just how “organic” a food product is. Check out the full article and let us know what you find at the grocery store.
