Is My Apartment Baby Proof? Probably Not.

I found out a couple weeks ago that I’m going to be an aunt. I am very excited because at 36 I wasn’t sure If my brother and his wife were ever going to have kids. And while the little rascal will not be with me 24/7 I do plan on playing babysitter quite a bit so it’s time to baby proof my apartment. Here’s some tips I’ve found

newbabyAlways check bath water temperature with your wrist or elbow before putting your baby in to bathe. This will prevent burns to a baby’s delicate skin.
Does the toilet seat have a latch? This will prevent your baby from possible drowning in the toilet.

How are the latches on your cupboards holding up? Have any broken off and need to be replaced?

Are all cords and electrical appliances out of your baby’s reach?

Any suggestions on things I need to do?

A gingerbread house for the kids to make and enjoy!

My family loves to cook. Even as a little kid my parents and I would make cookies and other dishes together. One of my favorite childhood memories is making a gingerbread house with my mom during the winter time. I found a recipe that is great to make with the kids and is very yummy.

What would you cook with your parents as a child?
